Missouri has 10 incubator facilities located throughout the state including St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, Cape Girardeau, Springfield, and Kirksville which provide space and facilitate the growth of start-up bioscience companies.

  • Center of Research Technology and Entrepreneurial Exchange (CORTEX)
    St. Louis, MO
    CORTEX is a life science district located on several hundred acres in the city of St. Louis. Anchor institutions include: Stereotaxis and Washington University's Center for Applied Nanomedicine.

  • Center for Emerging Technologies
    St. Louis, MO
    This center specializes in biotechnology, biomedical engineering, advanced materials and technology start-ups. The center has helped start 17 companies and has recently completed an $8 million expansion. It was named one of the top 10 incubators in the country by the National Business Incubator Association in 2003; it was No.1 in average revenue growth.

  • Nidus Center for Scientific Enterprise
    St. Louis, MO
    The Nidus Center focuses on entrepreneurial clients refining and preparing new technologies for market with a focus on plant science innovation. The center is expected to generate more than $1.5 billion for the regional economy over the next 15 years.

  • Life Science Business Incubator at Monsanto Place
    Columbia, MO
    The University of Missouri-Columbia will soon open a 52,000-square-foot facility to provide labs and office space for 10 to 14 companies utilizing research and partnerships from the campus.

  • Jordan Valley Innovation Center
    Springfield, MO
    In conjunction with Missouri State University, federal, state, and local investments have made the construction of this $20 dollar facility; home to Brewer Science, Crosslink, Nantero and St. John's Health System. The firms are working with students and faculty from Missouri State University to develop new technologies.

  • Christopher S. "Kit" Bond Science and Technology Incubator
    St. Joseph, MO
    In conjunction with Missouri Western University, this 25,000 square feet incubator is also home to the Institute for Industrial and Applied Life Sciences which will enhance training and wetlab space available within the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor.

 

Nidus Center
Nidus Center opened its doors in 2000 and was established to assure the commercial success of start-ups and early stage plant and life sciences companies. The Nidus Center is nurturing a number of accomplished young companies, including: Apath, LLC -- a pharmaceutical discovery and development company Chlorogen --a biotech company developing pharmaceutical proteins in tobacco , and Divergence --a biotech research company developing products in the control of parasites
